Introduction to the PL-Grid e-infrastructure and the QosCosGrid services

Introduction

The Polish Grid Infrastructure (NGI) has been built within the PL-Grid project (2009 – 2012) to provide the Polish scientific community with an IT platform based on computer clusters, enabling research in various domains of e-Science. This tutorial aim to show:

  • Resources and applications available in the infrastructure,
  • How to register in PL-Grid (hands-on),
  • End-user tools:  QCG-Icon,  QCG-Simple and  InSilicoLab,
  • How to run your simulations efficiently
  • How to start your simulations faster

The PL-Grid infrastructure is devoted to the polish science community. However any chemist not directly associated with polish research institution, but suffering from lack of computing resources may apply for membership in the Gaussian Virtual Organization. This will be part of one of the tutorials.
