Ongoing Projects

Project Logo Description Home Page
PL-Grid Plus The Polish Grid Infrastructure will be continuously maintained and extended: the new, 3-year project (2012-2014) has been started recently: “PLGrid Plus: Polish Roadmap toward Domain-Specific Infrastructure for Supporting Computational Science in European Research Area”. Its most important task is preparation of specific computing environments – so called domain grids – i.e., solutions, services and extended infrastructure (including software), tailored to the needs of different groups of scientists. These domain-specific solutions will be created for 13 groups of users, representing the strategic areas and important topics for the Polish and international science: AstroGrid-PL, !HEPGrid, Nanotechnologies, Acoustics, Life Science, Chemistry and Physics, Ecology, SynchroGrid, Energetics, Bioinformatics, Health, Materials, and Metallurgy.  http://www.plgrid.pl
MAPPER MAPPER logo The MAPPER project will respond to the critical need by developing computational strategies, software and services for distributed multiscale simulations across disciplines, exploiting existing and evolving European e-Infrastructure. This project is driven by the computational needs of seven exemplary multiscale problems from a variety of disciplines including Systems Biology, Fusion, Physiology, Engineering, and nano-Material Science.  http://www.mapper-project.eu
p-Medicine 'p-medicine - From data sharing and integration via VPH models to personalized medicine' is a 4-year Integrated Project co-funded under the European Community’s 7th Framework Programme aiming at developing new tools, IT infrastructure and VPH models to accelerate personalized medicine for the benefit of the patient.  http://www.p-medicine.eu/

Collaborating Projects

EGI* EGI.eu is a foundation established under Dutch law to create and maintain a pan-European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) in collaboration with National Grid Initiatives (NGIs) and European International Research Organisations (EIROs), to guarantee the long-term availability of a generic e-infrastructure for all European research communities and their international collaborators. Its mission is to enable access to computing resources for European researchers from all fields of science, from High Energy Physics to Humanities.  http://www.egi.eu
PRACE* The mission of the PRACE RI is to enable high impact European scientific discovery and engineering research and development across all disciplines to enhance European competitiveness for the benefit of society. The PRACE RI seeks to realize this mission through world class computing and data management resources and services open to all European public research through a peer review process.  http://www.prace-ri.eu

* Collaboration within the Task Force established between the MAPPER project and the EGI and PRACE initiatives ( more info).

Finished Projects

Project Logo Description Home Page
PL-Grid PL-GRID logo The goal of the project is to provide the Polish scientific community with an IT platform based on Grid computer clusters, enabling e-science research in various fields. The created infrastructure is both compatible and interoperable with existing European and worldwide Grid frameworks. The system ensures scalability and enables the integration of additional local clusters, belonging to universities, research institutions and technology platforms. We foresee exploitation of PL-Grid by state authorities, crisis management teams and industrial partners.  http://projekt.plgrid.pl
QosCosGrid QosCosGrid logo The goal of this project was to implement software infrastructure for quasi-opportunistic supercomputing. A quasi-opportunistic supercomputer facilitated demanding parallel computing applications on the basis of massive, nondedicated resources in grid computing environments.  http://biomed.science.ulster.ac.uk/archive/www.qoscosgrid.eu/
ACGT ACGT logo ACGT is a European Union co-funded project aiming at developing open-source, semantic and grid-based technologies in support of post genomic clinical trials in cancer research. It addresses clinicians, bio-researchers as well as software developers' needs, providing an open platform where novell and powerful services can be offered and used by practitioners in the field.  http://www.eu-acgt.org/
BEinGRID BEinGRID logo The mission of the BEinGRID project is to enable the adaptation and application of Grid technologies in the European Union market and to stimulate research within innovative business experiments.  http://www.beingrid.eu
BREIN BREIN logo The main goal of BREIN is the development of the Grid environment, which can be easily and effectively applied in business by its dynamic adaptation to business needs of participants. To this end, the project aims at integrating achievements from three domains: Grid infrastructures, intelligent agents, and semantic technologies.  http://www.eu-brein.com/
GridLab GridLab logo The GridLab project was focused on two aspects: one - parallell creation and implementation of the GridLab project application and infrastructure; two - dynamic grid computing  http://www.gridlab.org
